Welcome to The Void (my site), a drift through the wreckage and wonder of my mind.

My name is Jules Saggio.

I am a Taurus.

My coffee order is an iced vanilla latte, three-four espresso shots, and a splash of oat milk.

I am New York-born but currently reside in Los Angeles.

If I had to give myself some labels, I'd call myself a filmmaker, cinematographer, and producer with a passion for compelling, intuitive, and visual storytelling.

I work at Rare Breeds, a boutique camera rental house in Culver City, and as a Live Video Editor at Variety Magazine, where I’ve cut live broadcasts and red carpet coverage for some of Hollywood’s biggest premieres and festivals. I also serve as the Marketing Manager and second-unit DP for Interloper, a web series launching soon. Otherwise, I work independently as a Director of Photography but have also taken on Assistant Camera work as I build towards larger-scale productions.
My thesis film, Opulence, is a proof-of-concept short that explores the inner world of a strip club owner’s daughter, reflecting my love for surreal, character-driven storytelling. I'd say this piece is the beginning and trial run of how I aim to create as I grow my portfolio and myself. Stills can be viewed in the "cinematography" page on this site! Projected release is the end of 2025.

Whether I’m behind the camera on a project, or cutting live video in real time, I aim to bring authenticity, curiosity, and craft to every frame. I’m always seeking new ways to evolve my style and collaborate with people who share my passion for the process.

When I’m not working, I’m usually practicing yoga, hand-developing 16mm motion picture film, making cyanotypes and mixed media artwork, or discovering new coffeehouses.
