you remind me of summer

If I were to choose a season,
You remind me of summer.
The time of year where I am whole,
no longer asunder.

The elastic pink and gold tones of the dusk skies breaking on the jetties.
The earth turning slowly, as my mind becomes a little more steady.
You’re the sunrise I wake up early for,
You’re cold coffee, that I’m going to have to order for you,
The alternative music playing in the car,
With the moon roof open as we drive through the stars.

It may seem too soon to say it but you’re the lighthouse that guides me home when there’s an entire ocean I still have left to roam.
While I’ve yet to experience it with you,
You’ve given me the fortuity to chase the sunlight that my dawn receives from you.
